Hi there! I was introduced to SAGE though Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls. Now I have had the opportunity to intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and have won an Aspirations in Computing Award with NCWIT. I co-founded our local SAGE club in 2026 to help other girls in my community get their own opportunities.

SAGE has been a big part of my journey so far since I attended camp in 2024. In this club, I have loved seeing girls form connections not just with researchers at the lab but also with each other. Through game nights, ice cream parties, and career talks, I've gotten to see lifelong friendships form. That's what keeps me coming back to the club, and I'm so excited to see what else is in store!

Hi!! I am a senior in high school at Concord Christian School's University Model Program with hopes of becoming a STEM teacher. I first heard about SAGE this past spring from former president Addison who invited me to come to SAGE club one day. I love STEM, so l quickly fell in love with SAGE.

I love SAGE club not only because we get to have so much fun learning more about science and exploring different careers, but also because of the welcoming and supportive atmosphere. I especially love getting to meet other girls who share my interests and seeing everyone encourage and learn from each other. Hi!! My name is Kristen, and I am a junior in high school at CAK. I run track and cross country and love all things STEM. I did SAGE camp this summer (July 2026) and absolutely loved it; I'm always happy to talk about my experience. I got involved with SAGE Club through ORCSGirls, and it has been an amazing experience! You get to build a community of girls who have similar passions as you, and you get experience with new fields of science you probably never even knew existed! I am super excited to help lead the club this year, and I'm always happy to help with anything you need!

Hello! I am a homeschooled junior in high school with dreams of becoming a large animal veterinarian! I found out about SAGE in my sophomore year, and it has been an incredible experience!

This is more than just a science club--you meet other girls who share your interests in a supportive environment. SAGE has shown me careers in science I never knew existed and how diverse the scientific community really is. Whether you love science or are just curious, we would love for you to check us out!

Besides SAGE, I play cello in the Knoxville Youth Symphony Orchestras. I also love reading, crafting, playing pickleball, and spending time with my cat, chickens, and horses.

Hi. I'm Addison Malone, a freshman at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Nuclear Deterrence. I founded our SAGE Community Club with Leah during my senior year of high school after seeing firsthand how life-changing the SAGE program can be.

Attending SAGE Camp in the summer of 2023 completely changed the direction of my life and goals. Before SAGE, I had never even heard of the field I am now pursuing at UTK. Since then, l've completed three summer research internships at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, conducting research in nuclear nonproliferation, neutron imaging of lunar material, and radiochemical engineering for Cf-252 production. Those experiences led to opportunities to present my research, receive awards for scientific achievement, and co-author two peer-reviewed research publications while still in high school.

None of those opportunities would have been possible without SAGE. It introduced me to an incredible community of women in STEM, gave me the confidence to pursue ambitious goals, and helped me discover a career I'm genuinely passionate about. My hope is that every girl who joins our club finds the same encouragement, opportunities, and sense of belonging in STEM that SAGE gave me.
